Physician - Emergency Room
DUTIES:
Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center is now hiring an Emergency Room Physician.
Board Eligible/Board Certified Emergency Medicine preferred.
If Internal Medicine or Family Practice Board Eligible/Board Certified then 2 years of recent ER experience preferred.
Responsible for providing medical examinations, establishing a plan of care and appropriate disposition of patients presenting to the Emergency Department with Medical, Surgical, and Behavioral medicine diagnoses.
The ED workload averages 900 visits per month.
The department census includes emergent, urgent, non-urgent acuity levels and employee health visits.
The MOD in addition to directing the care of all patients presenting to the ED will provide supervision of residents and mid-level practitioners.
Work Schedule:
12 hour shifts with total 80 hours per pay period of duty hours.
Rotating shifts (weekends, nights, holidays included).

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
