Patient Representative

Patient Representative GS-301-7 PD# 3515-0, GS-9 PD#3516-0This position serves as liaison between the Medical Center, patients and staff of the facility, and the community it serves regarding patient rights and advocacy.
Duties:
Provides full staff assistance on administrative matters.
Interprets Medical Center's mission, policies, procedures and available resources/services to the patient and represents the patient's problems, opinions and needs to appropriate staff and management.
Identifies specific problems and potential problems and suggests solutions or alternatives to existing procedures which contribute to those problems.
Provides a channel through which patients can see solutions to problems, concerns and unmet needs.
Assists patients in understanding their rights in addition to their responsibilities.
May assist with congressional and/or patient inquiry letters as requested by the Office of the Director.
Assists in removing institutional barriers to the provision of optimum health care.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
