Supervisory Legal Identity Research Assistant (OA)

Oversees the maintenance and research of the agency's records for legal identity reports. Reviews and validates the legal identity reports for accurate data. Analyze and make final determination of all legal documents in Mine Owner Casefile. Determines the legal controlling interest of the individuals listed on the legal identity documents. Enters coal and metal/nonmetal mine operator information from their Legal Identity Reports into database. Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, 08, in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as Reviewing and analyzing research data; Preparing, editing and finalizing correspondence; Preparing data analysis or reports; AND Performing extensive inquiry into basic data to discover facts or fundamental relationships. In addition you must have a typing proficiency of 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You must have a certificate of proficiency from an organization authorized to issue such certificates or self-certify your proficiency.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
