Social Worker - Spinal Cord Injury Coordinator

Program Management:
Administers information and analytical systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of service provided to patients. Develops and implements information systems to track service activities including visits, referrals inpatient days, patient demographics, equipment utilization and patient satisfaction. Develops implements and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services and programs effectiveness. Serves as point of contact (POC) for all inquires regarding the SCI, SVH, POW/MIA. Manages the nationwide Spinal Cord Injury Dysfunction (SCID) Registry for the facility. Establishes collaborative relationships. Service Delivery:
The SCI Coordinator:
Clinical social work services are provided to the SCI population, services include, but are not limited to psychosocial assessments, establishing realistic but achievable treatment goals. Manages and coordinates provision of the following services as appropriate:
activities of daily living, home health services, prosthetic appliances, medical supplies, vocational rehabilitation, peer counseling, transportation and finances, home evaluations, housing alternatives and development and utilization of community resources. Makes home visits. Prepares reports, responds to action items. Additional Functions - Ex-POW:
Advocate:
Oversees the Ex-POW program, conducts POW support groups, completes compensation and pension surveys. Coordinates POW Recognition Day Program and the annual POW/MIA Recognition Day Program. Ensures all program goals are met. TBI/Polytrauma:

United States Citizenship. Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education:
Master's degree in Social Work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Licensure:
Persons hired or reassigned to social worker position must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Physical requirements:

Social workers must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j, this part Knowledge of Current Professional Social Work Practices. To be creditable, the experience must have required the use of knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics associated with current professional social work practice. The experience or education must be post-MSW degree. Experience and education satisfying this requirement must be active professional practice, which is paid/non-paid employment as a professional social worker, as defined by the appropriate state licensing board. Quality of Experience. Experience is only creditable if it is obtained following graduation with a master's degree in social work and if it includes work as a professional social worker directly related to the position to be filled. Qualifying experience must also be at a level comparable to social work experience at the next lower level.In addition to the basic requirements for employment, the following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candidates. Grade Determinations:
Social Worker Program Coordinators and Manager. For Social Worker Program Coordinators, grades are determined by the scope of responsibility and the type, size and complexity of the assignment. Experience, Education and Licensure:
Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator or manager must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level. Their experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. They may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course or study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the professional KSAs below:
Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice. GS-12 Social Worker Program Coordinator:
At this grade, Social Worker Program Coordinators manage the administrative and clinical aspects of a major specialty treatment program, such as PTSD, Substance Abuse Treatment Program SAW, Home Based Primary Care HBPC, etc., or a combination of programs located at one facility or multiple divisions of a facility. They have responsibility for coordinating interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services provided and admission criteria for the program. They may also supervise employees assigned to the program. References:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
